What do I do if there is a change in my background information?

Section 1729.2 of the California Insurance Code requires insurance producer applicants and licensees to notify the Insurance Commissioner in writing, within 30 days, of changes in background information after an application has been submitted or a license has been issued. How do I find a continuing education provider?

How do I renew my license?

CDI offers an online renewal service. Please select the following link and follow the instructions to immediately renew your license: License Renewal

Why am I unable to renew my license online?

There are several reasons that you may not be able to renew your license online.

First, is the license number correct? Please be sure that you are inserting your license number correctly onto the online service. The license number contains a zero (e.g., 0) followed by either a number or a letter which is followed by five numbers (e.g., 0H12345).

Second, are the continuing education requirements completed? Please confirm that you have completed the required continuing education, which includes three hours of ethics, before your license renewal date (Check License Status)

How do I get a certificate of license status?

The California Department of Insurance (CDI) has arranged with a third party vendor, Sircon Corporation's Web site, to allow resident insurance producer licensees to request a certificate of license status online and pay their fees with a credit card (VISA or MasterCard) and immediately print the Certificate of License Status.
