Email Address Search Report
Section 1729 of the California Insurance Code states, in part, that every licensee shall immediately notify the commissioner using an electronic service of any change in his or her e-mail address.
To assist insurers and insurance agencies in monitoring their agents' compliance with the notice of change of email address requirement, the California Department of Insurance (CDI) developed an email address search report which lists all of the agents that are either appointed by the insurer or endorsed by the agency that do not have an email address on file with CDI. Please refer the licensee(s) listed to the CDI online address change service. There is no cost to use these services.
CDI has three methods to print the Licensee Email Address Report:
Printable Document Form (PDF) Report - (Adobe Acrobat Report)
- To use this service, the insurer representative will select "Insurer" and then input the insurer's NAIC number. Similarly, the insurance agency representative will select "Agency" and input their license number.
- Press the "Run PDF Report" button to create a list in Adobe Acrobat format.
Comma Separated Values (.csv) Report - (Excel Format)
- To use this service, the insurer representative will select "Insurer" and then input the insurer's NAIC number. Similarly, the insurance agency representative will select "Agency" and input their license number.
- Press the "Run Download CSV File" button. The user will be prompted to either "Open" or "Save" the file.
- If the user selects "Open" the csv file will open and can either be printed or saved.
- If the user selects "Save" a Microsoft "Save As" dialog box will appear asking where you would like to save the file. The user can then select a file name and location to store the data. Once the file is saved the user then has the option to open the file, open the folder in which the file is stored, or to close the dialog box.
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) Report
- To use this service, the insurer representative will select "Insurer" and then input the insurer's NAIC number. Similarly, the insurance agency representative will select "Agency" and input their license number.
- Press the "HTML Page" button to create a list in the Hypertext Markup Language format.
