ADVISORY - Insurance Commissioner to release preliminary insured loss figures for 2018 wildfires

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones will announce preliminary insured loss data from the Camp, Woolsey and Hill fires. Together, the 2018 fires damaged or destroyed nearly 20,000 structures and tragically claimed 88 lives. The Camp fire eclipsed the Tubbs fire of 2017 as the most destructive and deadly wildfire to hit California.

Commissioner Jones took multiple actions in the wake of the recent wildfires to help affected Californians, including issuing a notice to insurers to expedite claims and a declaration of emergency to allow insurance companies to use out-of-state adjusters.
