Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara statement on the passing of Gloria Molina

Los Angeles  — Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara today made the following statement on the passing of former Los Angeles County Supervisor, Los Angeles City Councilmember and State Assemblymember Gloria Molina:

“Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, Gloria Molina, whose passing leaves a void in our hearts and in the landscape of public service. Gloria was a dear friend and mentor to many, and she was also a fierce and unapologetic advocate for the people of Los Angeles County.

“She did not wait her turn and she did not back down from a fight. Through her remarkable work, she paved the way for generations to come, inspiring countless individuals, like me, to follow in her footsteps.

“Gloria's legacy will forever resonate with those who knew her and those who were impacted by her unwavering dedication. She was a champion for the Eastside, a beacon of hope for marginalized communities, and a steadfast advocate for equality and justice.”
