Business entity applicants may now search CDI records to determine if a business entity name is currently approved for use by a California insurance producer licensee. 

The use of the Business Entity Name Search program may reduce those delays resulting from the selection of a name already approved for use by another business entity.

NOTE:  Absence of a name resulting from a search using the Business Entity Name Search link will not automatically result in an approved name.  CDI will still have to review your request to determine if the name is too similar to the name of an insurance company or a name that has been reserved.  Additionally, CDI will need to determine if other requirements for name approval (e.g., such as whether words or phrases are being used properly) have been met.  Applicants desiring more information about name approval requirements should go to the Business Entity Main Page.
