Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones Marks 20th Anniversary of Berkeley, Oakland Firestorm
Also recognizes United Policyholders 20 year Anniversary

Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, joined by Assemblymember Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) and Oakland Mayor Jean Quan will mark the 20th anniversary of the Berkeley, Oakland Firestorm and the 20th year of United Policyholders (UP) consumer advocacy efforts at a meeting to be held at Oakland City Hall tomorrow night.

"I want to thank the team at United Policyholders for their outstanding work on behalf of California consumers over the last two decades," said Commissioner Jones. "My staff and I, as well as those who preceded me as Insurance Commissioner, have appreciated the opportunity to work closely with UP to better protect consumers. What we learned in the terrible Oakland hills fires has enabled us to better assist survivors of fires across California."

After Commissioner Jones recognizes United Policyholders for their outstanding consumer advocacy, Assemblymember Skinner will present a resolution and Mayor Quan will present a proclamation recognizing United Policyholders efforts over the past 20 years advocating on behalf of consumers.
