Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones Announces Cost Saving Improvements To Department Computer Terminals

Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones announced today that the California Department of Insurance's (CDI) "Green Team" has installed new technology to CDI's computer terminals aimed at cutting energy consumption some 30 percent and potentially saving $37,208 annually. The Green Team, comprised of selected CDI staff, looks for ways to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the environmental responsibility of CDI.
"I'm both very pleased and very proud of this technological improvement brought forth by the members of CDI's Green Team," Commissioner Jones said. "The Department is constantly studying and reviewing ways to reduce our energy consumption and to be more environmentally responsible in this time of renewed energy efficiency and calls to cut costs."
The Green Team is currently working on additional hardware solutions that will also be cost effective across the Department.
