Advisory - California Insurance Commissioner speaks and participates in New York Climate Week
NEW YORK, NY — California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones will speak at and participate in multiple events throughout Climate Week NYC 2018 where world leaders and experts on climate change and climate risk will gather to showcase climate action and discuss local and global response to climate change. Climate Week NYC 2018 is organized by The Climate Group in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York.
Jones has taken actions and initiatives throughout his tenure as Insurance Commissioner with regard to climate risk and insurance, including leading the administration of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' Climate Risk Disclosure Survey, his Climate Risk Carbon Initiative, his first-in-nation stress test analysis of insurance company investment portfolios, his international work founding and chairing the Sustainable Insurance Forum, and his recently released report titled Trial by Fire: Managing Climate Risks Facing Insurers in the Golden State.
