This file is a representative sample of the California private passenger automobile insurance market. This file contains 10,000 records. A company may use this file for calculating weights and aligning the weights in the proper order as required in Sections 2632.8(c) and (d). Use of this file is optional. Insurers may also use either of the two files listed in Section 2632.8(b)1. and 2. to calculate weights. Insurers may leave out those rating factors that are not part of the rating formula for the coverage being calculated. This file can only be used for the weighting requirements after the completion of the sequential analysis as specified in 2632.7. The file is provided in Excel 5.0 for Windows formats. Annual Mileage All annual mileage figures have been rounded to the nearest 1,000 mile increment. However, figures less than 500 have been rounded up to 1,000. Years Licensed The number of years licensed for the rated driver. This value will be zero if there is no rated driver or if the actual value is zero. Secondary Driver Characteristics This includes the gender, marital status (married, single or widowed only) and years licensed group (0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9+) of any secondary rated driver on this vehicle.
