LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Abbas Eslami aka Bobby Eslami, 56, of Claremont, was arrested May 9, 2014 and charged with insurance fraud. Eslami allegedly falsified a receipt for repairs on a fuel pump which was damaged during an accidental drive-off incident. Eslami also gave a statement to his insurer in which he was adamant that he paid the extensive repairs and should be reimbursed. The insurer denied the majority of his claim as it did not correlate to the damages detailed in the statement. After the denial of reimbursement, Eslami filed a small claims lawsuit against his insurer which was dismissed by the Court. The Department of Insurance opened an investigation and determined Eslami had falsified documents and was attempting to defraud his insurance company. This case will be prosecuted by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.
