Consumer Alert for Winter Weather
January 13th, 2023 - Areas of California are currently being impacted by flooding following the arrival of a series of winter storms. Most residential and renters flood insurance is provided through the National Flood Insurance Program, which is administered by FEMA. Flood insurance is separate from homeowners and renters insurance, which covers other threats such as wind and storm damage. FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program and the California Department of Insurance are standing by to assist you and your community as you work to help with recovery.
Below are a number of resources available for your use. All resources may be distributed widely with other partners in insurance, public safety, emergency management, media, and elsewhere.
