Commissioner Jones issues statement on President Trump’s regulatory Executive Order
News: 2017 Press Release
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump issued an Executive Order requiring that a new regulation may only be proposed in conjunction with proposing the elimination of two other regulations:
“Today’s Executive Order that requires repealing two existing regulations before proposing a new regulation makes no sense. The President’s order would require that two consumer protection regulations be repealed for every new consumer protection regulation advanced. This simplistic formula will recklessly lead to untold negative consequences for the American public, including weakening protections for consumers.”
