Advisory: Insurance commissioner to tour Santa Rosa wildfire zone and meets with victims
Commissioner took steps to expand insurer claim adjuster capacity and speed claim handling
SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Commissioner Jones is visiting the affected area to meet with wildfire victims. Commissioner Jones declared an emergency situation, which allows insurers to expand their claims adjuster workforce by using out of state claims adjusters in order to respond more quickly to policyholder needs. Jones also obtained agreements from many of the largest insurers to expedite claims and offer flexibility with deadlines and documentation typically required for claim settlement.
