Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones issues statement on Dallas tragedy
News: 2016 Press Release
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Today Commissioner Jones issued the following statement on the tragedy in Dallas:
The tragic events in Dallas are heart wrenching. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen and wounded officers and the larger Dallas community. As the leader of a law enforcement agency, I feel the weight of the concern we have for our officers' safety and that of all officers across the nation, as they serve and protect the public. As we work to reform our criminal justice system, we are reminded by Dr. Martin Luther King that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." We honor the sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the Dallas tragedy and all officers who have given their lives in the line of duty while protecting our communities.
