Commissioner Poizner Issues Statement on Unidentified Package, Employee Evacuation
Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner issued the following statement today:
"At about 11:30am, the California Highway Patrol and the Sacramento City Fire Department confirmed that the unidentified substance found in a package handled by CDI employees this morning was not hazardous. Approximately 50 CDI employees and eight members of the public were evacuated from320 Capitol Mall. CDI employees have returned to work. I want to thank CHP and the Sacramento City Fire Department for their prompt action to keep CDI employees safe, and for their diligent investigation into this matter."
