(*) All Filing Fees are Non-refundable. Section 1751.5 of the California Insurance Code states, in part, that the filing fees shall not be refunded, whether or not the application is acted upon or an examination taken.

(**) Late Renewal Fees: The late renewal fees include the original renewal fee and the penalty fee.

(***) Bail Renewals: Bail renewals are renewed for two year terms. Bail Agents pay $128 per surety company appointment and Bail Solicitors pay $128. After the expiration date of the license, Bail Agents and Solicitors must reapply and pay a license fee of $852. In addition, Bail Permittees must reapply and pay a license fee of $1700.

(****) Surplus Line Broker (SL) and Special Lines Surplus Line Broker (SP): For individual license filings, the fee is $884 (two year) for those who are going to transact as an individual with a $50,000 bond. For individual license filings, the fee is $884 (two year) for those who are going to transact as an individual with a $50,000 bond and may also be transacting on behalf of a surplus line broker business entity. For individual license filings, the fee is $442 (two year) for those who are transacting only on behalf of a surplus line broker business entity.

Non-Resident Fees

California's licensing fee for non-residents is the same as the fee to become licensed as a resident producer when applying for the same type of license regardless of which state the individual holds a resident license.
