Connect the Older Adults in Your Life with Resources on Aging

A key ingredient to aging well is connection, both to other people and to resources that make life a bit easier for older adults, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers.

For 50 years, California’s aging network has worked to increase both kinds of connectedness. As people become more aware of the services available in the state and their local community, the more they tap into benefits of connection, including reduced serious illness, increased activity, healthier eating, and more restful sleep.

During Older Californians Month this May, the California Department of Insurance is proud to celebrate and connect our community with state, regional, and local aging resources. Did you know that the California Department of Insurance hosts the Senior Gateway? The Senior Gateway is a one-stop website intended to provide seniors, their families, and caregivers with the information they need to connect to helpful services and resources, to find answers, and solve problems.

There’s also a new Aging in California Resource Guide, available online and as a newspaper insert later in May. If you don’t receive a copy, give us a call and we can connect you with the Guide.
